• The City of Durham has contracted Community Home Trust to facilitate the Downpayment Assistance Program to provide outreach for the program.
• The eligibility requirements are that applicants must be first time home-buyers, meet 80% AMI income requirements, either live or work in Durham for at least a year, and complete first time home-buyers education and a one on one financial counseling session.
• Community Home Trust receives applications and documents to determine eligibility for the program. Community Home Trust also provides first time home-buyers education course and one on one financial counseling session.
• Applicants must have their own realty representation and a pre-qualification letter from a lender.
• The home they purchase must be within City of Durham limits.
