We are excited about your interest in our Association and in joining the growing REALTOR® Community. Below you will find the guidelines for joining DRAR as a REALTOR® Member or Associate Member. To ascertain that you are applying for the appropriate type of membership, please review the Types of Membership page.
Requirements:
- A completed Membership Application.
- Attend a New Member Orientation program and complete an online Code of Ethics class within 60 days of the date of application.
- A copy of the applicant’s real estate/appraisal license or pocket card.
- Remittance of appropriate DRAR dues and fees (see Fee Schedule for details).
Additional Details:
- Provisional membership is granted, subject to subsequent review by the Board of Directors, to new REALTOR® applicants who have started the process of completing the above requirements.
- Provisional members are considered REALTORS® and are subject to all of the same privileges and obligations of membership. Termination of membership will result for provisional members who have not fulfilled all of the requirements of membership within 60 days of date of application.
- Access to the Triangle Multiple Listing Service is a benefit of membership, but is not required. More information can be found on the How to Join the Triangle Multiple Listing Service pages for Firms and for Subscribers.
- REALTOR® Members of DRAR are also members of the North Carolina Association of REALTORS® (NCAR) and the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). A portion of REALTOR® dues pays state and national dues.
- REALTOR® membership is on an individual basis. Dues are not transferable and non-refundable for any reason.

Becoming an Associate Member
Associate Members of DRAR receive many valuable resources and opportunities to help grow their business and enhance their professional success. Becoming an Associate Member is the first step in forming a mutually beneficial partnership with REALTOR® members of DRAR.
Fill out the Associate Member Application and we’ll take care of the processing and welcome you into the DRAR family.
Mortgage Lenders, Insurance Agents, Attorneys and Home Stagers are just a few of the many different specialists in our Associate Program. We know your services will benefit our members and consumers.
- Exposure — Associates members get more exposure to hundreds of local REALTORS® by getting involved and attending DRAR functions.
- Recognition — DRAR website recognizes all Associates under their appropriate field of business making it easy to build awareness and broaden your business opportunities.
- Networking — Meet and Greet opportunities abound thru FREE membership luncheons, social events and industry forums.
- Sponsorships — DRAR hosts dozens of exciting events throughout the year. We offer Associate sponsorship opportunities giving you the added exposure you need to raise awareness and build lasting relationships. There is something for every type of company and budget.
- Volunteer — Get involved in one of our active committees, the list is endless. One thing is for sure, we’ve got the right opportunities to open new doors for expanding your business!
How to get started?
For as little as $250 a year in membership dues, you can become an Associate member of the Durham Regional Association of REALTORS®. When you think about it, Associates dues are less than the cost of a half-page ad in the local newspaper.
